CRAN - Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia has expanded the list for SRD devices which are subject to mandatory homologation.
Please contact IB-Lenhardt in order to be on the safe side. We will inform you, if your device has to be type approved in Namibia based on the new requirements.
New TA Regulation
CRAN - Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia has published an Amendment of Regulations in Respect of Type Approval and Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment which became effective on 11th September 2019.
Some equipment exempted from Type Approval
On 2018-05-08 a notice was published by the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia -CRAN- in the Government Gazette Number 6588, establishing a list of Telecommunications equipments newly exempted from type approval.
The notice reminds that "from a technical and legal perspective, only communications or networking equipment which interfaces with public network services or wide area network services require type approval", and includes the list of the equipment not subject to type approval anymore.
New Type Approval Requirements
Namibia's CRAN published new rules for Type Approval:

RTTE test reports are required
no sample needed but can still be requested
Validity is 3 years
These come into force on 2015-08-03 and apply to existing devices as well.
The Type D electrical plug has three large round pins in a triangular pattern. Type M plugs are often used alongside Type D plugs for larger appliances and as a result, some sockets work with both Type D and Type M plugs. Type D plugs are rated 5 amps.
The Type M plug has three round pins in a triangular pattern and looks similar to the Indian Type D plug, but its pins are much larger. Type M plugs are sometimes used for bigger appliances in countries that make use of Type D plugs, as well as in Israel (Type H). Therefore, sockets in these countries sometimes work with Type M plugs.
